Steel Tankard Tavern
The Cataclysm & The War of the Lance
The current year for our homebrewed Dragonlance campaign is set during 381AC.
Inspired By Trampas Whiteman

This spacious inn and tavern serves as one of the main public eating houses within the city of Haven. Like alehouses everywhere, the Steel Tankard Tavern offers beer, wine, and, on occasion, spirits. Meals are served for those with the coin, and beds for travelers are available. A crowd of locals gathers each night to drink, gossip, sing, and play games of chance.

In addition to city residents, any travelers passing through Haven are usually found here. The Steel Tankard Taverns owner and proprietor is a middle-aged male human named Toben Elris. He employs several waiters, waitresses, and cooks. Toben is friendly and open, quick with a smile and a warm welcome.

The Steel Tankard Tavern is decorated with curios, salvage, and relics from across Abanasinia even as far back as before the War of the Lance. An old statue from a beloved fountain stands in the corner, the planter boxes of a Haven wineseller are mounted on the walls and filled with flowers, the privy door sports the doorknob and knocker from a noble's house, and unbroken panes of stained glass were hung from the ceiling and loaded with hundreds of candles for use as chandeliers. It all appears tasteful rather than tacky. The patrons of the Steel Tankard Tavern believe this is a proper way to honor the past.

The walls are thick, the better for privacy. Overall, the tavern is clean and comfortable - having a rather worn look to it. The inside is bright and welcoming, with live music and lots of light. The décor includes elements modeled on flowers, seed pods, and leaves. The furniture is carved of wood from the surrounding region.

Mounted on the wall just as people walk in is a job board that usually has several job requests for others to accept. The establishment is a nondescript everyday tavern one might find in any mid-sized town or city. The main floor in the tavern consists mostly of an open area filled with square tables with chairs and a medium sized bar located along the far side on the main floor as you enter the establishment. The meals served at the inn are well prepared and the rooms on the upper floor are clean and comfortable.

Meals are served on pottery or pewter or copper services according to the customers order. Various leather jacks, pottery mugs, wooden tankards, pewter steins, glass flagons, crystal goblets, or silver chalices are used for the beverages. The locally brewed ale and beer is supplemented by brews from other places, and wine, mead and brandy from all over the region make their way to the boards of the Steel Tankard Tavern.

(All full meals served with bread and honey, potatoes, and string beans, yams, rum-boiled artichokes, potatoes, and string beans, yams, rum-boiled artichokes, cabbage, carrots, or spinach.)

Daft Gnome Ale House
The Cataclysm & The War of the Lance
The current year for our homebrewed Dragonlance campaign is set during 381AC.
Inspired By Trampas Whiteman

The Daft Gnome Ale House, a rather large tavern that is rumored to be one of the oldest taverns in Haven. This brewhouse is very popular among the Tinker Gnome traders. The Alehouse has an aged look and feel to it but seems well put together and well maintained. Most of the clientele have plenty of coin to spend.

Egormacdroniskar . . . "most people just call him Egor", Brewmaster of the Daft Gnome Ale House and the true (and recognized) genius behind the success of the Daft Gnome Ale House. This two story stone built establishment is a tavern in the city of Haven. The building has a very warm and comfortable feel to it. Walking into the tavern, customers immediately notice the fine construction of the building. It is obvious the management has invested a lot of money into this tavern.

The Daft Gnome Ale House is a very nice drinking establishment located in the northernmost section of the city. It's proprietor is a elderly Tinker Gnome who can often be found welcoming customers at the door. Many merchants and travelers can also be found here recruiting for various adventures. It is very popular among the short folk.

It features a young female human Barmaid named Trista, a consumables merchant, and three hearths to warm your spirits. The tavern has a warm, comfortable feel to it, the hearths are always roaring during the winter months and the taverns ale casks are always full! The establishment also has a "job board" where the governing body of Haven posts various jobs that they are looking for assistance with.

Respectable customers are always welcome as long as they have the money for their drinks and meals. Meals are priced slightly higher than the norm, but the food and drink are well worth the price increase and with the tavern being located in the busier section of Haven, the prices are easily a fair price for the customers that frequent this alehouse while remaining in range of travelers and merchants. The guest rooms are rather pricey but again, they are well worth the price.

The main floor of the tavern is mostly an of open area, with dividers separating each section and filled with tables and chairs and a well stocked bar located on the side of the room as you enter the tavern. Bar stools have been placed around the bar itself. The inn is clean and very well maintained, you can tell the owners take great pride in this establishment.

Meals are served on pottery, pewter or copper services according to the customers order. Various leather jacks, pottery mugs, wooden tankards, pewter steins, glass flagons, crystal goblets, or silver chalices are used for the beverages.

The locally brewed dwarven ale and beer is supplemented by brews from other places, and wine, mead and brandy from all over the region.

Blackrock Bakery
The Cataclysm & The War of the Lance
The current year for our homebrewed Dragonlance campaign is set during 381AC.
Inspired By Trampas Whiteman

This establishment bears a hand-painted sign with its name and a picture of a loaf of bread. “Papa” is Otho Gyver (male human Commoner), a middle-aged baker who’s worked in Haven for over six years.

The wonderful smells coming from his shop every morning spread throughout the village, ensuring good business. The shop stands next to the Steel Tankard Tavern which gives this establishment a lot of business. The building is a small bakery, and surprisingly well stocked, with the front of the shop facing the main street that goes through the center of the city of Haven. It has a small cellar for storing supplies, with the ground floor given over to the business and upper floor used as the family home.

The ground floor has two main sections. The front of the building is the store and is open to the public. Here, a counter ringed the room with large cabinets displaying the day's wares; there is also a bread bin. A corridor leads to the back of the the building. The cellar of the building is used for storage, holding ingredients.

At the rear was the kitchen and preparation area, with a large oven, cooling racks, and work bench. The oven is very large, seemingly too large for a bakery of this size, being able to automatically adjust its temperature so everything was baked to perfection.

The bakery has a small dining room at the front of the shop. Upstairs is a small living area, furnished with two couches, rug, and bookcase with a small bedroom in the back. Off of it is a bathroom with bathtub. The shop as a whole is very cosy and confortable and it very popular with the residents of Haven and the surrounding area.

At times the shop has been known to have customers from outside Haven, as far away as New Ports and even Ravenvale . . . the Blackrock Bakery is known throughout Abanasinia and is well respected as one of the finer bakeries alongside the Ravenvale Patisserie Shoppe.
